Spinal Adjustments
Our Doctor had been trained in 8 technique systems to accommodate a large variety of patient needs.

Typically the doctor uses the following:

Diversified--This is the most widely used form of manipulation in the chiropractic field. It combines the best of other 'hands-on' techniques and generally results in a popping sound as the chiropractor makes the adjustment.

Activator--This technique utilizes a spring loaded instrument with tension control to give consistent low-force chiropractic adjustments. It is a very versatile method well tolerated by children, elderly, or those uncomfortable with 'popping' sounds. It is also most appropriate for acute, post traumatic, or patients with osteoporosis.

Also used according to our patient’s preferences or needs:
Thompson, Gonstead, Upper Cervical, SOT, and Applied Kinesiology.

New Patients
After providing a complementary consultation, we offer our new patients a thorough musculoskeletal examination. Within 24-48 hours of your initial visit we will provide a written report and provide a no charge consultation to explain our findings. If you are a chiropractic case we will provide you with a recommended treatment plan at that time.

Our examination may include the following:

Blood Pressure/ Pulse--General Cardiovascular health.

Orthopedic Tests--Used to diagnose the cause of your pain (Muscle, disc, bone, vascular, etc)

Neurological Test--Also aids in localizing the source. Focuses more on the nerves, discs, and brain function.

Posture Exam

Chiropractic Exam--including palpation (feeling for joint 'fixations' or malpositions by hand)

Diagnostics
We've all heard negative things about doctors, mechanics, lawyers, and just about any profession. At Woodward Chiropractic we fully believe the difference between a good and bad doctor is in their ability to determine what needs to be done before they start rendering treatment.

We have several on site diagnostic tests available. Before ordering any test we will explain what the tests will reveal, how much they cost, and why we feel they will be beneficial for you. If it is necessary to refer you for outside testing we will also inform you why, what the tests will reveal, and will even assist you in scheduling an appointment.

We refer only to the most qualified, highly reputable practitioners in our community.

In-house Diagnostics include:
Computerized Flexibility Assessment--Used to determine specific loss in joint range of motion.

Computerized Strength Assessment--Used to determine muscle strength loss, asymmetries, and muscle fatigability.

Massage Therapy
Massage is a wonderful way to relax and relieve workday stress. Pamper yourself or a loved one with our scented or unscented oils, soothing music, and gentle touch. Treat yourself to a 30 minute regional massage, or go for the full body 2 hour deluxe.

We offer sports massage, medical massage, or stress relieving massages. We even have special massages for our pregnant patients.

Some insurance may cover this service. We also offer gift certificates, with discounts on bulk purchases.

Rehabilitation
Our office provides basic rehab for a variety of muscular conditions including carpel tunnel, neck and low back weakness, and sports injuries.

At Woodward Chiropractic we believe that low tech equipment is the key to providing the best quality rehab in a way the help patients see how easy it is to take care of them selves at home following treatment in our office.

We use Swiss balls, surgical tubing, tread mill, wobble and rocker boards, and several other simple tools to effectively rehab. your injury.

We are able to provide the following forms of rehab:

Strength Rehab--use to prevent disuse atrophy (shrinking and weakening of the muscle from not being used) and to strengthen weakened muscles post injury/ surgery.

Gait Training--teaches proper gait in walking/ running to prevent future injuries and preventing compensation for current injures.

Neuro-muscular Rehab. --improves posture, coordination, and balance.

Misc. Therapy
At Woodward Chiropractic our core treatment includes spinal and extremity adjusting. We emphasize the body's natural abilities to self regulate and heal. When an injury exceeds the body's natural ability to perform these functions, we conservatively utilize some additional therapeutic procedures.

We offer the following ancillary treatments:

Ultrasound--sound waves that deeply penetrate the surface to provide internal heat and friction. This is typically used to reduce pain, swelling, and loosen scar tissue.

Ice/heat--great topical analgesics, that are inexpensive and readily available. Used to locally change the rate of circulation and to decrease pain. Typically we will train you on the proper use of each and will encourage you to use them at home.

Electric Stim.--uses different frequencies of electricity to cause relaxation of muscles, ionic movement of swelling, and a numbing effect on pain.

Mechanical Traction--assists in restoring normal spinal biomechanics, provides relief of muscle spasm, and increases disc nutrition through a pumping action.

Myofascial Release--deep tissue stretching to alter postural distortions and release scar tissue adhesions
